SIKAP ETIS UMAT KRISTEN DI TENGAH GLOBALISASI EKONOMI DAN PROBLEM KEMISKINAN
Abstract
Makalah ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan usulan sikap etis umat Kristen terhadap globalisasi ekonomi dan problem kemiskinan di tengah resesi global dunia. Usulan ini dipandang perlu karena umat Kristen seringkali melakukan privatisasi iman yang berorientasi pada keselamatan jiwa. Di sisi lain, gereja juga kerap mengandalkan suara profetis untuk melakukan protes terhadap pemerintah untuk mengatasi problem kemiskinan tetapi kurang memperhatikan peranan individu dan pemahaman analisa ekonomi yang tepat. Tulisan ini berupaya untuk menguak potensi kekuatan pasar kapitalisme dalam globalisasi ekonomi untuk mengatasi problem kemiskinan dunia dengan mengintegrasikan prinsip keadilan distributif yang dapat diaplikasikan umat Kristen secara individu dalam kehidupan pekerjaan mereka. Dalam upayanya, penulis menggunakan metode kualitatif studi pustaka dengan melihat dari sudut pandang ekonomi, tinjauan Alkitab dan sudut pandang etis umat Kristen sebagaimana diusulkan oleh pelbagai teolog dalam sejarah khususnya dalam tradisi reformed. Sebagai penutup, penulis mengajak umat Kristen untuk memiliki upaya transformatif dalam memerangi kemiskinan dunia dengan pelbagai sikap etis dengan pelibatan diri secara aktif dalam pasar ekonomi global yang diimbangi dengan pengaplikasian prinsip keadilan distributif.
